Southlins, the perfect holiday home in Dornoch
Sleeps 7 (Well-behaved and house-trained pets by prior arrangement only)
Overlooking the cathedral in the heart of this lovely village, Southlins is an imposing townhouse built in mellow sandstone. The world-famous golf course of Royal Dornoch is a five minute walk and so are the golden sands of the beach. All the amenities of the town – pubs, shops, churches and banks – are within a wedge shot of the front door.
Besides Royal Dornoch (invariably ranked in the world's top twenty courses) a number of other fine links courses are close by. The Struie, lying adjacent to "the top course" as the locals call it, is also of championship standard, while Golspie, Tain and Brora are all attractive and demanding tests just a short drive away. Fortrose and Rosemarkie has some of the most famous greens in Britain, and Strathpeffer has some of the most fabulous views. Nairn and Castle Stuart are easily commutable for a day trip.
Walkers, cyclists and fishermen will find ample scope in the local environs.
